King's Noodle Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
This Chinese quick lunch dinner Chinese BBQ Restaurant is an ICON in Chinatown. It's presence spans many years of a group of hsrdworking. loyal. and dedicated workers and owners. It has and had been seemed to a lot of patrons and clients a MUST visit when and where they come by and from. Try and be convinced to their genuine taste of BBQ Duck. Charsiu. and Pork. YOU WILL NOT REGRET COMING FOR THE VISIT!!
The food was ok, typical downtown Chinese food standard, not great but not bad. You can tell the style is more old school which some will like. Average prices average sizes. They open early which is a plus and only reason I would come.
This is place is nostalgic for me, so my take might be biased but here it is: Great option for simple older style chinese food downtown. My go to options are the roast pork - alwsys crispy and fresh, and the wanton soup - delicate and warming. I am always pleased by the reproducibly good results. Recommended. Just keep your expectations in check for a humble, downtown cash only place for Chinese food; stick to roast meats, BBQ, noodle soup and rice-based options (including fried rice and congee), steamed Chinese broccoli and snow pea tips are great veggie options; avoid 'glazy/saucy' generic dishes and you will be fine.
This restaurant is IMO the best Chinese food in Toronto! The bbq pork, ginger scallion noodles + ginger scallion sauce (it’s worth the $3 trust me) and Kai lan are all chefs kiss delicious. The soups are the best in the city and the chicken congee is my personal fave. The people who run this place are also just all around beautiful people. We ordered last night and got our usual and called the resto to ask if they had the Chinese donut to go with the congee. The woman told my husband they don’t really make it anymore and he said ‘oh our kids really love it.’ She asked him if she could call him back and literally two minutes later she called back and told him they’d make him some. When it got here it was super fresh and crispy and we had two very happy kids that ate up all the donut + congee. Places and people like this make me love this city! This is our go to for life and we’ve NEVER had a bad experience. BEST CHINESE FOOD IN THE CITY HANDS DOWN!!
I hadn't been to King Noodle in at least 5 years and was very impressed. I am Chinese and know my Chinese food and have been missing Goldstone on Spadina since it shut and looking for a replacement, this could be it! Food was very fresh and generous portions. Shrimp cheung fun was a highlight - very silky, freshly made and a delicious thin sauce. BBQ pork noodle was excellent, crispy noodles and perfect sauce, not claggy. Veg mapo tofu was delicious with a good kick. Service was shockingly excellent for a Chinese restaurant, no yelling and even a smile!! Prices very competitive in Chinatown. Will be back!
Went here for late lunch on a weekday, there was no wait for a table. We walked right in and were seated right away. We’ve been coming here for a long time, they’ve had the same staff for the past 5+ years. The prices had increased from when we first started going here and portion size has stayed the same. Taste wise it’s been consistently good. We usually come here for their beef noodle soup. And that has stayed delicious for many years. We don’t come here as often as before, parking is a bit hard since it’s meter parking and harder to find one. There is a parking garage on the opposite side inside the mall across Scotiabank. It’s a bit pricey, but if you can find street parking and don’t mind walking that would be a better option.
A bowl of duck rice + gai lan in oyster sauce for lunch was so delicious. Service wasn’t warm but definitely efficient. It didn’t bother me that much. The chilli oil was absolutely delicious — you can taste the dry fiery spice, the ginger scallion accompaniment was just as good (you’ll have to request for it, sorta a IYKYK thing). Cash or etransfer only. Swing by for some delicious no frills quick lunch!
I have a good experience every time here with the BBQ Duck with Wonton Noodles soup. Amazing taste of duck, the atmosphere are a little quite for lunch cause but I love it. I’ve been here 6 years ago and still come here until now. So tasty noodles!!
